New Friendships
Today we invited the TK classes in to our 2nd grade classrooms as part of our PBIS celebration for the month. Our goal was to get to know each other a little better and help them feel as welcome as we could in our learning environment. When our new friends first arrived, we asked them to write their name on the friendship papers everyone got to take home to tell their families all about the visit. Then our 2nd graders practiced their reading accuracy and fluency by reading a story or two from our HMH Start Right Readers to their new friends. A few of my students were so excited to share this time with siblings and cousins that were in TK. Everyone sure is looking forward to the next time we get to do more fun things together.
