Parent Teacher Council

The membership of the Council shall consist of fifteen people. These members shall be asked to serve a two-year term. Among the representatives, there shall be four teachers representative of elementary and middle school and eleven parents. The members of the council shall be selected in May and shall assume their duties July 1.

Objectives of the Central Lyon PTC according to the By-Laws:

1. To assist the teachers when called upon to do so.
2. Represent the parents when the need arises.
3. To organize fundraisers.
4. To distribute by majority vote, funds to the teachers and/or special requests.
5. To support other volunteer programs in the school as dictated by the council or by majority vote

Meetings: 2nd Wednesday of each month at 5:15

Location: Elementary Library

Activities & Traditions

1. We provide welcome gifts to new teachers.
2. We provide food & snacks for teachers to welcome staff back in August.
3. We volunteer at the Book Fair.
4. We help at classroom parties for Halloween, Christmas & Valentine's Day.
5. We organize Christmas Gift Letters for students and families to gift something special to their teacher.
6. We provide food and snacks during Teacher Appreciate Week.
