Foundations of Education

Foundations of Education is being offered to students at Central Lyon as a dual credit class.  Students are able to earn one high school credit and three college credits through Northwest Iowa Community College if they earn a grade of C or above.  There is a prerequisite of having a cumulative grade point average of 2.6 or above in order to take the class.  

Foundations of Education is an examination of teaching as a potential career, discussions of the goals of education, roles of teachers, historical development of education, educational reforms, alternative and current philosophical issues, and human relations aspects of teachings.
