Course Descriptions
Pre-requisite:
Pre-Algebra - Elective Course
In the geometry
courses, the students will:
1) Work with points, lines and planes
2) Use reasoning and proof
3) Work with parallel and perpendicular lines
4) Solve problems with
congruent triangles
5) Study relationships within triangles
6) Solve problems involving quadrilaterals
7) Find area, surface area & volume of geometric
figures
8) Solve problems using trigonometry
Pre-requisite:
Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II - Elective Course
This course contains an intensive review of the topics from
algebra, trigonometry and analytical geometry that are necessary
for success in calculus and contains an in-depth coverage of all
the topics normally taught in the first two semesters of
three-semester calculus sequence. Naming some of the topics
covered- limits, derivatives, critical points, integrals,
accelerations, areas under curves, volumes of solids of revolution
and rate problems.
Pre-requisite: Pre-algebra or Alg I - Elective Course
This course is a basic study of geometry. We will cover many of the same topics that we cover in Geometry but not as in-depth. We also do not do proofs in this class.
ALGEBRA II 2 Credits Full Year Course
Pre-requisite: Algebra I and Geometry - Elective Course
This course covers a
lot of advanced algebra topics such as functions, linear systems,
matrices, quadratics, polynomials, exponential and rational
functions, sequences and series, trigonometry.
This class is the pre-requisite for Calculus so students will need
to take this class during May Term if they plan to take Calculus
the following year.
