Students Building a Full-Scale House
For the past three years the shop class has built a tiny house. The 2019-2021 year the shop class under the guidance of Mr. Engel is building a regular sized house to be sold. Junior Riley and the senior Eddie both prefer making this house instead of the tiny house. The jobs the students performed rotated every day so they could get more experience in different roles. Riley and Eddie recommended this class to anyone who wants to develop their woodworking skills and practice with hand tools. They finished the house by the end of the 2020-2021 school year and did work through the winter. When asked about the snow Riley said, “We’re just going to get shovels and some heaters and keep working.” The snow won’t be a problem for the house because as long as the house has a chance to dry, it won’t rot or mold.
