All About Me!

I received my teaching certification in Elementary Education, Reading, and Special Education k-12 through Northwestern College in Orange City, IA. I have a huge passion for teaching and always knew I wanted to be a teacher growing up.

While in college I played on the womens' tennis team and I enjoy being active! Running is a hobby of mine as well as being "artsy" in multiple ways. I have a creative mind and enjoy making new creations as well as reading blogs on all the "how to's," that are available. 

My family consists of my husband, Jon Gerber, our daugther Penelope and our adopted "Yorkiepoo" named Duke. It's a big name for such a small dog, but he fits the mold :) Penelope is new to our family as of this past summer and we are enjoying all the new experiences that come with parenting. We are so proud to call her ours. 

We moved to this area approximately 3 years ago and live in the small town of Lester. Since moving back to Iowa we have really enjoyed the community and opportunity to meet new people. Working at Central Lyon has provided me a chance to meet new faces and I love the people here.
