Ag in the Classroom

Ag In the classroom is a spin off from the National FFA PALS program. Mr. Rockhill believes that it’s a great opportunity for his Agriculture students to have the chance to teach younger students about agriculture! They do fun, engaging activities with the kids to learn about various agriculture topics. For example, in September they had the younger students learn about dairy and how to make butter. Many students benefit from this program, both the  younger second grade students and the older high school ag students. It not only exposes students to different things within agriculture, but it also gives the high school students an opportunity to work with the younger generation, learn communication skills, and learn how to work with younger kids. This is a great opportunity for the ag program and is exciting to see all the kids interact together!

Partners in Active Learning Support (PALS)

The objectives of the PALS program are to improve interpersonal, human relations and leadership skills through a long-term mentoring program. While participating in this program, both the mentors and the mentees develop an understanding and appreciation of the diversity of learning styles and develop strategies to encourage all students. Mentors acquire leadership and planning skills as they work as a team to develop individual and groups activities.
