Forster Charitable Trust
The Forster Trust was established by Mrs. Ella Forster at her death in 1987. Mr. James (Frosty) Forster died in 1975. Their bequest totaled about $1.4 million to be used for “charitable, religious, scientific, literary or educational” purposes. In 1997, Superintendent Fred T. Seybert and the Board of Education, which consisted of, Randy Koll, Board President, Mike Cleveringa, Board Vice-President, Judy Gacke, Director, Tom Tille, Director, Tom Wall, Director, Bruce Vogel, Director, applied for a grant from the James W. and Ella B. Forster Charitable Trust to complete the auditorium during the construction of the new high school building.
The district was awarded the grant which committed to make annual grants of $35,000 for a period not to exceed fifteen (15) years. George Schneidermann and Bruce Kammermeyer, representing the trustees of the grant, John Appel, Bruce Kammermeyer and the Frontier bank, presented Superintendent Ackerman with the final payment of the grant. The total grant distribution was $525,000. Central Lyon would like to thank the James W. and Ella B.
