The Most Important Meal of the Day

According to research, those who eat breakfast feel more alert and are all around healthier. Eating breakfast regularly reduces the risk of diabetes and heart disease.

By serving breakfast in school, the parents know that their children are getting a healthy meal before starting their day. In the modern working world there are many homes where both parents are in the work force.

Breakfast may be skipped or people might go to fast food places before they drop their children off at school. For the older children there are times when they are rushing to an activity in the morning before school. With this in mind, it eases parents’ minds to know that their children can grab breakfast at the start of school day to start the day off right.

Central Lyon serves a healthy breakfast from 7:45 to 8:10 a.m. in the elementary gym and the high school commons.  Parents are encourage to have their children eat a healthy breakfast daily, whether it is at home or at school.
