Covid Vaccine Now Available to All Iowans!

Please see the Public Health COVID Vaccine update from our partners at Health Services of Lyon County

Starting on Monday, April 5, 2021, the Governor has authorized the increase of vaccine availability to all Iowans. Public Health of Lyon County and our partners Avera Rock Rapids and Sanford Rock Rapids will be moving forward with the expansion of vaccine availability to all Iowans. In our county we will offer the vaccine to all persons 18 and older. Please note with this change, Lyon County is expecting to have low volume of vaccine with increased demand.

To be placed on a waiting list for the vaccine, call Health Services of Lyon County at 712-472-8200.

Avera Rock Rapids and Sanford Rock Rapids will be notifying their primary-care patients regarding their vaccine registration opportunities.

Health Services of Lyon County wants to encourage all residents to take advantage of getting the vaccine when it is available and offered. The vaccine offers another piece of mitigation in the goal to decrease the spread of illness and move forward to more normal lifestyles.

COVID illness rates over the past 14 days has creeped up slightly, and all of us need to keep up the fight of following mitigation measures. There are new variant strains that are circulating around the world, United States, and here in Iowa. Please stay vigilant and remember to do the following :

  1. Stay home when you are ill
  2. Wear a mask to protect yourself and others
  3. Maintain social distancing at all times
  4. If you are displaying COVID illness symptoms please reach out to your medical provider for further evaluation on testing need.

Thank You for your efforts in keeping Lyon County safe!
